House Music Scene Loses A Great One

Michael DeBenedictus of the Peech Boys passes away.

Michael DeBenedictus passed away on October 17, 2019, in his home in Catskills, NY after losing a long battle with cancer.
Michael was very instrumental in the disco/dance music scene, being the creator of the electronic hand clap that is noted in the Red Bull Music Hall of Fame.
He is most noted for producing and co-writing the dance classic “Don’t Make Me Wait” by Peech Boys.
Michael kept in good company with some of the greats that helped to shape the dance culture. This included best friend David DePino, Keith Harring (artist) and band-mate with Larry Levan (Peech Boys) and others.
